5 October 2018, Sandton, Johannesburg
The Rugby World Cup 2019 Preview Luncheon will take place a day before the test match between South Africa and New Zealand at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
The Luncheon will take the form of an “UnConference Format” wherein administrators, players, coaches, journalists, pundits and rugby fans will all have a chance to debate as to, which will be the hottest teams and players to watch when the tournament starts on 20 September 2019 in Japan.
With the tournament not held in a traditional rugby nation, it will throw up all sorts of challenges for the teams and players alike, facing a gruelling schedule, ending after 6-weeks in Tokyo with the winners lifting the William Webb Ellis Trophy.
The teams will contest in a total of 48 matches with the one of the biggest match-ups taking place on the opening weekend between tournament favourites New Zealand and South Africa.
Africa’s 2nd representative will also join the same Group as South Africa, New Zealand, Italy and a Repechage winner.
The Luncheon will also feature a panel of experts and pundits giving their views on the Pretoria test match with those selected to play will certainly want to make their mark for Japan 2019.
A special guest will also share with our guests the top ten trends in modern rugby both on and off the field, with the expansion of the game in to new areas, being one of the world body’s main endeavours for staging the World Cup in Japan.
