The inaugural Mzansi Football Forum & Awards will seek to debate the future of the country’s football as well as giving recognition to those personalities involved in the business and media segments of the game respectively.
Taking place in Durban on 1-2 December 2017, the Forum will feature prominent football personalities sharing their thought leaders in a highly interactive environment with the objective to implement best practice for the future sustainability of the country’s number one sport.
The Forum will open with a series of masterclasses covering diverse topics such as how to build a winning mentality on the field of play, football business management, player conditioning and managing injuries, social media and online strategies, fan engagement and player image rights, etc.
A high powered, leaders in football panel will officially open the Forum to debate the challenges facing Mzansi’s football on all levels and what vision will be implemented to make it winning nation both on the continent as well as in international tournaments.
Other panel discussions will focus on the state of affairs around club football, grassroots development and local community football, player welfare, coaching for success, managing sustainable academies, raising sponsorship and funds from various sources like the Lotto and how to run the modern day football club respectively.
The Mzansi Football Business Awards will bestow more than 40 accolades at the Gala-Dinner on Friday 1 December 2017 giving recognition to the best performers in the commercial segment of club and association football, media personalities, social media and online as well as sponsorship, etc. The Hall of Fame Awards will induct two of the country’s leading football personalities both alive and posthumously.
The Forum will link up after its conclusion on Saturday 2 December 2017 with inaugural South African Football Legends & Masters Awards Ceremony prior to the Telkom Knock-out Final* and it will honour players who played in the first match after unification in 1992, the class of 1996 winning AFCON team as well as legends that have played professionally over the last five decades both inside and outside of the country.
Delegates and guests will also attend the final and have the choice to take up hospitality packages to enjoy the match in corporate suites at the Moses Madhiba Stadium. * Match is subject to confirmation.
