African football stakeholders to partner European countries.
The inaugural Euro-Africa Football-Partnership Forum (EAF), will take place in Madrid, Spain on 26 September 2018 and it will follow the World Football Summit (WFS), which is taking place in the city from 24-25 September 2018.
Gerom Media, the organisers of the Euro-Africa Forum is arranging for delegates from Africa to also attend the WFS with both events offering increased networking and partnership opportunities.
The Forum will facilitate discussions on sustainable cooperation agreements between European and African football associations (FA’s), leagues, clubs, player unions, academies, elite coaches, agents and other football organisations.
According to Gerrit Davids, MD of Gerom Media, “delegates from the continent will have no better event on offer where they could discuss and forge cooperation agreements, not only with Spanish football bodies, but also potentially with the likes of the European Clubs Association (ECA), which is lead by Andrea Agnelli, Chairman of Juventus”.
African leagues will also have the prospect of meeting their counterparts and umbrella body, the Association of European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL), which is the voice of 32 Professional Football Leagues from across the continent.
The Forum will have plenary and sectorial discussions with the main objective being to facilitate effective cooperation agreements between Europe and Africa respectively.
With delegates having the option to first attend the WFS, which has become one of the world’s premier football conventions with more than 2300 delegates from 80 countries have attended in 2017 engaging with 90 football experts debating key issues on how to take the game to the next level.
Davids says that the stature of WFS bears testimony to the fact that it has just renewed its partnership with LaLiga “to continue working together in the promotion and growth of global football”.
The agreement guarantees that LaLiga will have maxim participation and exposure at WFS and it is hoped that it would extend its overtures to African countries looking to partner them.
